KEARNEY REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
When community leaders made the decision to build a new hospital in Kearney, Neb., they turned to Hutton to complete the work. John Lanning, CEO at Kearney Regional Medical Center, said they were looking for a “company that would work with us throughout the project to come in within budget, without having to make too many cuts.”
A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP
Hutton built the original 58,000-square-foot hospital on a greenfield site in 2013. Two years later, Hutton returned and added on to the ICU while also building a birthing center, patient wing and emergency department suites. The 60,000-square-foot addition doubled the size of the hospital.
Working on an existing hospital comes with challenges, including meeting infection control risk requirements, controlling dust and not blocking patient access. “Hutton was professional and reasonable to work with throughout,” said Lanning. “Their superintendents were thorough. We opened on time with very few issues.”
