TABOR COLLEGE
Hutton first worked with Tabor College in 2013, replacing stairs and walkways to two dorms on campus. They were asked back in 2016 to complete the largest construction project in school history — the creation of a new performing arts center.

DID YOU KNOW?
The performing arts center features a variable acoustic system, which changes the reverberation rate in the auditorium for perfect acoustics for the spoken word or amplified performances.

OFF STAGE
Hutton built a two-story center that features an 830-seat auditorium, 150-seat black box theater, scene shop, dressing rooms and more for the theater. Then there was the art gallery and photo labs, ceramics shop, painting and drawing classrooms and recording studios and rehearsal rooms.

SOUNDS GOOD
One highlight from the project was the acoustics Hutton achieved through the design and build of the auditorium. The space features a one-of-a-kind variable acoustic system that allows for crystal clear sound with no distracting echoes.
