Hutton and Shelden Architecture carried out a campus expansion project as part of Heartspring’s capital improvement plan.

The walls of the group home needed to be sturdy and able to withstand abuse. Hutton built mock-ups and dropped weights on them to determine the best material and methods.
UP TO THE JOB
The new construction and remodeling project encompassed 22,879 square feet across the campus and included a new group home, a remodel and expansion of their cafeteria, and the addition of therapy and classroom space. Heartspring trusted Hutton, who had worked on a smaller project for them before. “The level of detail, the quality of work and the responsiveness of a team on a project that small gave us incredible confidence that a $5 million project would be handled with the same level of excellence,” said Stupay.

Hutton completed the project on time and under budget. “They were great partners through the process,” said Stupay. “They listened, they wanted to understand our needs. When there were hiccups along the way, Hutton was 100 percent responsive. They fixed it, owned it, moved forward and made it right. That was huge for us.”
