COSMOSPHERE
The Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, Kan. is revitalizing its facility and started in 2017 with a renovation of their café. “It was a great plan that the architects developed but the biggest hurdle was the cost,” said Jim Remar, the Cosmosphere’s president and CEO. That was the first time they brought Hutton in. “They really helped take the project that we envisioned and pared it down to a budget we could afford.”

THE NEXT MISSION
When it was time for the next project – the education, mission control and flight areas – the Cosmosphere knew who to call, and why. “The skill sets are under one roof, from architectural design to construction to project management,” said Remar. “I knew if I turned the project over to Hutton, I wouldn’t have to babysit and would have a committed crew to produce the end product we wanted.”

THE DEBRIEFING
Here was the takeaway for Remar on Hutton: “They have a dedicated team. Skilled craftsmen. People who are willing to help find a solution or an answer, rather than throw up their hands and walk away. We weren’t a customer, we were a partner.”
MISSION COMPLETE
Remar said Hutton brought all disciplines to the table ensuring they got the project they wanted in a timely manner. Quality, professional and skilled individuals who are at the top of their craft. “We knew that these were going to be high use, high traffic areas,” said Remar. “Hutton worked to ensure good traffic flow and adequate space, things the Cosmosphere has come to know and expect.”
