ROOM TO GROW, WITH LITTLE ROOM TO WORK
The new Overland Park branch expanded Equity Bank’s reach into a rapidly growing Kansas City market, with three teller stations, two drive-through lanes, and dedicated space for mortgage services and financial consultations. With just 10-15 feet of access on three sides, the site presented significant logistical challenges. Crane mats created a weatherproof surface for staging equipment, while a shared-lift agreement among the trades reduced congestion and equipment rental costs. These strategies helped the team make the most of a uniquely constrained site while keeping construction moving efficiently.
TOP-DOWN TOWER ENHANCEMENTS
The Equity Bank Tower has been looking over east Wichita since it was built in 1973. After Hutton Design+Build worked with the Equity team to update several of the interior spaces of this tower over the past few years, it was time for an exterior facelift as well. The design for this project included a top visor and a geometrical corner piece on the northeast façade, highlighted with lighting features for enhanced visibility. In addition to these upgrades, several interior floors were also updated, and the entire building was repainted. Updates to the entrance façade rounded out the project.
