Cocoa Dolce was growing. Fast. They needed a design-build contractor who could keep up and help them open a second location. “We already knew we wanted Hutton, from previous experience,” said Amber Travis, director of operations. “The time crunch was our biggest hurdle, being open in time for Christmas. Hutton was able to make it happen.”

THE PROCESS
Hutton Design+Build used the design-build delivery method to complete the project. “Seeing it go from a piece of paper to an actual thing was really cool,” said Travis. “The attention to detail was just impeccable from the start to the very end.”

SMOOTH OPERATION
“They were able to explain things really easily and were upfront with expectations and costs,” said Travis. “If we sought out a certain look for a material and it was too expensive, they found an alternative. It was just a very accommodating process that went as smooth as it could.”
KEEPING IT COOL
To help support increased demand for the expanding chocolatier, Hutton Design+Build was asked to design and build a manufacturing, packaging and storage space next to Cocoa Dolce’s existing headquarters in downtown Wichita, KS. This new addition nearly doubles their original capacity and freezer storage. It includes three walk-in refrigerated storage rooms, a new dedicated packaging space and an expanded team member break room.
