After growing up as a lifelong baseball fan in the Kansas City area, Mat graduated from Oklahoma State University to pursue a new passion – one of connecting with people on a human level. Recognizing that passion, Mat joined Hutton’s People Operations team as the first impression for new hires. When he’s not at work onboarding new Hutton Team Members, you can find him walking his dog around his neighborhood or catching a WindSurge game.

Sheila has always been a numbers person. With a master's in business administration, she leads Hutton's accounting and finance teams. She stays involved with the National Association of Women MBAs and the Construction Financial Managers Association. In 2017, she was selected to participate in Leadership Wichita, where she learned new skills while meeting some of the area's top leaders.

Growing up on a farm, Brett learned to be a creative problem-solver and use resources wisely. He spent about 25 years in the manufacturing/industrial sector, many of those years with Hutton, using that same creativity and resourcefulness to bring solutions to our clients. As our leader of business development and growth strategy, he works tirelessly to make sure our clients' dreams come true.

Thomas believes the best spaces tell a story about the people who use them and the places they belong in. After studying interior architecture and industrial design at Kansas State University, he pursued opportunities to work nationally and abroad, exploring how thoughtful design can shape everyday experiences. Today, Thomas has returned to his native Kansas, where he focuses on creating environments that feel purposeful, rooted in place, and meaningful to the communities they serve.

Jorge chose a career in safety because he is passionate about making sure everyone accomplishes rewarding work while being confident they will go home safely each night. He is willing to stand up for safety and is committed to upholding Hutton's safety standards on every jobsite.

Framing houses at the age of 15, Jason quickly saw the value of a hard day’s work and the rush that comes along with seeing tangible results of his labor each day. When he found out he could make a career of it, he was sold. Striving to make projects worry-free for clients, Jason’s favorite part of the process is seeing the look on a client’s face the first time they see their building.

Aaron’s dad was a home builder, so Aaron was always on a construction site growing up (safely, of course). With that foundation and a desire to use his creative talents, he received an architecture degree from the University of Kansas. Aaron practiced in Colorado before returning to Kansas and feels privileged to design and create beautiful places in his home state.

Jimmie started at Hutton straight out of high school. He turned his first full-time job – his first experience with construction – into a career. He loves the variety in construction service work and takes pride watching things come together, and stay together, helping the owner maintain their building for years to come.

Make it better and make it beautiful. You can never talk Emily out of putting in every last ounce of effort to make a building work well and look great. A desire to shape the built environment led her to an architecture degree from Oklahoma State. Now, Emily leads clients through the process of turning their dreams into real spaces that function and inspire.

Ben Hutton was swinging a hammer as soon as he could lift it. By age 12, he was working on job sites. He studied construction management at Kansas State University and started at Hutton as a project manager. Soon after, he was leading the company’s business development efforts. In 2010, he became president. In 2016, CEO. Since then, the company’s capabilities have expanded and the number of team members has more than tripled.

Tony Rangel has been an architect and passionate community advocate for over three decades. His care for his hometown shines through both his work and his long-term community involvement. As a Hutton Design+Build architect, Tony uses his skill, experience, and care to create beautiful, functional spaces that last.

Ryan grew up on a farm where he was always building or working on something. The work came naturally, and so did his construction science and management studies at K-State. Today, he can't imagine doing anything else. He enjoys making the project come together, watching client companies succeed and grow, and seeing hard work rewarded.

Josh's path to Hutton Design+Build started in his high school drafting class where he designed his first house. That sparked an interest leading to a degree in architecture from K-State, then to working for some of the top firms in Wichita, becoming a licensed architect in Kansas and certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He now oversees the company's architectural capabilities.

After earning her interior design degree from Kansas State University, Catie built a career in her hometown of Wichita. Now as both a licensed interior designer and an architect at Hutton, her love for people-focused design and drive to better serve design-build clients allows her to turn ideas into reality. Outside of work, Catie serves on multiple community boards and stays busy on her small homestead with her husband, two daughters, and a mix of goats, chickens and two loyal pups.

Arnold learned carpentry at the knee of his father, who was in the trade. He cites a high school shop teacher as a source of inspiration, too. He earned his degree from Wichita State University. At Hutton, he continues the tradition, getting the most joy out of his job when he is working side by side with team members, teaching and learning at the same time.

Spencer grew up helping with the family business, including pouring concrete, installing grain bins, running combines during harvest and working cattle during the winter. He attended K-State and played football under coach Bill Snyder, where he learned discipline, accountability and the true concept of a team. With a true passion for his craft, Spencer embodies the Hutton way.

It started with Lincoln Logs, LEGO and an imagination. Matt built whatever he could dream up. In high school, he started to dream more elaborately, drawing and designing buildings that were not toys but towers. He followed his vision to Kansas State University, earning a degree in architecture, and then to Hutton Design+Build, where every day his job is about designing and dreaming and turning ideas into reality.

Abigail’s background in public service, economic development, strategic communications and marketing makes her a great leader for our marketing team. A Wichita native, she is dedicated to helping her community grow around her, and she expertly assists Hutton’s ability to do just that. As the director of Hutton’s marketing team, she supports the goals and mission of each Hutton capability.

Jennifer’s favorite shape is a Venn diagram, and her celebrity crushes are behavioral economists. Combining a bachelor’s in Psychology with an MBA in Change Management and more than 20 years in business, Jennifer leads Hutton’s ultra-talented IT, Marketing and People Operations teams, who in turn support Hutton’s client-centered service offerings.

Luke has been building things his entire life. His mom still tells the story of how he put his own tricycle together, and he continued building things for family and friends until he was old enough to get a job working for a local construction company. He enjoys construction because he gets to create solutions to challenges by implementing a plan and watching it succeed.

With a strong background in sales, business management and non-profit people-centric work, Sean brings value to our team with skills in team building and his ability to mine data to make informed, purposeful decisions. He joins our team, representing Hutton Facility Services and Hutton Energy Services, connecting clients with valuable services. In his free time, he enjoys carpentry, snowboarding, literature and music.

Born and raised in Iowa, Jen brings 20+ years of human resources experience to Hutton. Her career has been driven by a genuine desire to help others and make a difference, which shows in her people-first approach. As a key member of the people operations team, Jen is known for her attention to detail, problem-solving mindset and focus on creating a positive experience for every team member. Whether it’s streamlining a process or answering a question, she’s always working to support those around her.

Business development is more than pursuing projects – it’s about living out the values that define Hutton. Brandon believes that strong relationships, trust and doing the right thing are the foundation of meaningful work, and he brings that mindset to every client interaction. Brandon is passionate about connecting people to possibilities, and he looks for opportunities to build partnerships that reflect Hutton’s purpose-driven approach.

Allyson’s love for puzzles is what initially brought her to interior architecture. One of her favorite aspects of design is space planning, which is like Tetris for each unique space. At Hutton Design+Build, Allyson brings this unique approach to the team. With an established portfolio of national clients, her interior architecture experience is incomparable on the team.

Kyle has always loved the idea of making something from nothing—making an idea into a reality. It’s why he went to Kansas State University for Architectural Engineering, and why now he has a relentless drive to help decision makers find a home for their next business. Leading the way with positive energy, problem solving and a strong vision, Kyle’s propensity for connection and relationships makes him a great fit for commercial development clients.

Alex brings a hands-on approach to every project he manages. Alex oversees the team members whose work sets our projects apart in quality and craftsmanship. With more than 16 years of industry experience and a skillset built on craftsmanship, problem-solving and empathy, Alex is the kind of person who understands both the technical demands of a project and the people working to deliver it.

Evan brings a unique combination of executive leadership and community development experience to his role at Sevenfold. A natural strategist, he has the rare ability to see both the big picture and the practical next steps needed to move organizations forward. At Sevenfold, he helps teams do the hard but meaningful work of refining vision, aligning strategy and unlocking the potential within people. With a sharp sense of discernment and a drive to empower others, Evan leads with clarity, purpose and heart.

Jeff is well known in the Wichita area for his skills in delivering quality projects for a vast multitude of clients ranging from healthcare, education, office, and multiple story. He is loved by owners simply because he is so easy to work with throughout the duration of their project.

Erin brings over two decades of business development experience rooted in the AEC industry and a deep network across Arkansas. She’s known for building authentic partnerships by aligning client visions with tailored design and construction solutions, always grounded in trust and transparency. Erin’s passion extends beyond projects – she’s a committed community advocate through Urban Land Institute, Mercy Health Foundation and CREW NWA, and she actively fosters a culture of collaboration and integrity through mentorship and industry development.

When Duong isn’t attending all four of his kids’ school and club sports events, he’s managing various design projects at Hutton Design+Build. With more than 20 years of experience, Duong is team-focused and deadline-oriented, and his consistent effort to keep his projects under budget results in a high return for happy clients.

With more than 16 years of experience, Kris understands all the needs of a project. His responsibilities include total project oversight during pre-construction and construction, conceptual estimating, contract administration, coordination of resources, and monitoring of project progress and performance.

Luke grew up in a family construction business and has always had a passion for construction and building. He is fueled by design-build projects that help Hutton clients with creative solutions. His extensive experience managing self-perform work informs his role as the leader of Hutton Design+Build’s industrial team. Luke will guide you through the best construction method for your project and make sure it is finished on time and within budget.

Derek oversees quality on all Hutton Design+Build projects. His experience in construction techniques, materials and methods, and ensuring water does not intrude on a building makes him invaluable to our team. His vast responsibilities include construction document review, shop drawing coordination, field testing of in-place systems, and subcontractor oversight.

Andy is no stranger to designing or building. He earned a civil engineering degree from K-State and worked several years in Wichita as a design engineer, leading the construction of ethanol plants across the U.S. After working as a project manager and later as a team leader at Hutton, he was promoted to the role of president in 2016.

Andy is a nuts-and-bolts kind of guy. He grew up learning to love woodworking and remodeling projects with his father. He later pursued this interest in bringing beauty and order to raw materials by studying construction science at K-State. Andy knows how to collect the right little pieces and make something bigger and better.

Jordan brings to Hutton an uncommon intuition about the human dimension. With leadership experience across nonprofits, education, and for-profits, she knows how to listen to diverse stakeholders and clients in a way that builds empathy and identifies valuable insights. A graduate of Wichita State University, Jordan is the consummate lifelong learner.

Before she grew up on a Kentucky tobacco farm, Tina’s family came to the U.S. as refugees. This unique life experience gave her the work ethic she has today as the People Operations Generalist at Hutton. With more than 15 years of experience before coming to Hutton, her HR history makes her a valuable addition to the People Operations team at Hutton.

Eric Brown is a Kansan through and through. He grew up on a farm outside of Brewster and now spends his time among the Salina community with his wife and kids—when he’s not collecting lapel pins from his travels. Over his 18 years of experience in economic development, Eric brings his understanding for vision, support and collaboration to Hutton. His history with community partners, thought leaders and organizational progress give him a sharp perspective on what makes people tick.

Jeff had his first internship with Hutton and started at Hutton after graduating college at Kansas State University. Working as a project manager and team leader on some of Hutton's largest commercial construction projects, Jeff now leads the Hutton Facility Services and Hutton Energy Services teams. Under Jeff's leadership, HFS has grown in size and geographical reach across Kansas and Arkansas, and added preventative and proactive maintenance to HFS's on-call and warranty services.

Joerg came to Kansas as a German foreign exchange student in 1992. Since then, he’s applied this experience toward many opportunities, eventually becoming an American citizen a few years later. His responsibilities include total project oversight during pre-construction and construction, conceptual estimating, contract administration, coordination of resources, and monitoring of project progress and performance.

Shawn brings extensive experience in regional banking, commercial lending, and community leadership to his role in business development at Hutton. Shawn has spent his career building strong relationships, which gives him a deep understanding of the businesses, municipalities and communities that make up Western Kansas, and a practical perspective on what clients need from a trusted partner. Shawn connects clients across the region with the full depth of Hutton's capabilities, earning trust through genuine relationships and a long-standing commitment to the communities he serves.

With 30 years of human resources experience, Kristin brings a deep passion for helping people discover their purpose and potential. Raised on a farm as the oldest of three girls, she learned the value of hard work and the confidence to take on new challenges – principles that continue to guide her leadership today. At Hutton, Kristin leads the people operations team with a focus on building strong, healthy cultures where people and performance thrive.

Bringing a rare blend of creativity and tech savvy to Hutton as the IT Director, Cameron is constantly looking for ways to make technology work better for people. He’s a pianist and problem-solver at heart, and with more than 25 years of IT experience, he keeps Hutton on the cutting edge of technology.

Marisa's career started at Wichita State University, where she earned a degree in marketing with an emphasis in real estate. That foundation led her into brokerage work across leasing, sales and advisory services in the Wichita market, where she built a reputation for pairing sharp market knowledge with genuine care for her clients. Her work earned her recognition as a Wichita Business Journal Deal of the Year honoree and a spot among its Women Who Lead in Sales. At Hutton, Marisa brings that same relationship-first approach to every project she touches.

From sketching to LEGO sets, Jon developed a passion for designing structures and creative problem-solving at a young age. Later a drafting unit in middle school officially introduced Jon to architecture. Wanting to learn more, Jon received a degree in interior architecture from K-State. Today, you can find Jon doing two things he loves: dreaming up solutions for spaces and drinking coffee.
