THE HUTTON INTERN EXPERIENCE
Interns at Hutton don’t just push a broom. They participate in making decisions, using tools, impacting projects and learning in a hands-on environment. Our interns come from construction and design four-year bachelor degree programs and related associate degree trade programs.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The skills a Hutton intern can earn through these summer programs are invaluable. On jobsites and on in-office design teams, interns are encouraged to take a vested interest in their projects. Over the summer, as a designer, builder or both, you will have the opportunity to:
- Earn tangible, hands-on experience.
- Develop relationships with team members, clients and trade partners.
- Contribute to the success of projects in a legitimate way.
- Work in a design-build environment as an architect, a builder or both.
- Review project schedules, and support superintendents and supervisors on their projects.
Beyond simply designing something and the work that I would do in school, I learned how that fits into a broader context of design and build.
Hutton Intern, 2022
Our work at Hutton is built on four essential values. These make up the foundation of everything we do and are embedded in everything we believe.
We guide people and projects toward success with craft and care.
We choose to design a better future by always asking “what if.”
We empower everyone to bring their unique skills to the project.
We build better people, projects and communities.
